Clever Brewer
The Clever Brewer is the ultimate "easy button" for manual brewing. It’s an immersion dripper that takes all the guesswork out of your morning. You don’t need a steady hand or a fancy kettle; you just need a mug and a few minutes. It gives you the full-bodied richness of a French Press but uses a paper filter to keep things clean and silt-free.

Zero Performance Required: No gooseneck kettle? No problem. Just pour the water in and walk away for a few minutes.
The "Magic" Valve: It stays sealed while it steeps. The second you set it on top of your favorite mug, the valve opens and filtered coffee flows out. Lift it up, and it stops.
Built for Life: Made from BPA-free Eastman Tritan plastic. It’s shatterproof, heat-retentive, and won’t break if you accidentally knock it off the counter while reaching for the records.
Easy Cleanup: Once you’re done, just bin the filter and rinse. No scrubbing metal mesh or disassembling plungers.
Our Method
Prep: Pop a standard #4 filter in, rinse it with hot water, and dump the rinse.
Pour: Fill with 250g - 300g of water just off the boil.
Load: Add 20g of medium-coarse ground coffee (think sea salt texture). Give it a gentle stir to make sure everything is wet.
Wait: Put the lid on. Go find a good song to listen to (we suggest Train In Vain by the Clash). Wait about 3-4 minutes.
Drop: Set the brewer on your mug. Watch the physics happen.
Drink: That’s it. No fuss, just great coffee.

We chose the Clever because it fits our ethos. We use it for lazy days when we don't want something as strong as an aeropress brew and don't need as much as a french press.
